Makeover

Posted on May 8, 2012 in Home Living

It’s been a very busy few weeks trying to find the “perfect” new colors for our home.  We’ve lived in this humble abode going on 7 years and it’s time for a face lift!

Let the color choices begin!  Out of the 7 colors picture, none were in the running!  Ok, maybe 2 if I lived in Florida, in my dream beach house!

There were so many colors on the wall, I was overwhelmed!  Too blue, too green, too brown! Finally, I have made my choices!

 Final color selections from Sherwin Williams for this Mile High Home:

Kilim Beige

Indigo Batik

Clary Sage

“Eeny, Meeni, Mini, Mo”

Here’s a sneak peek of my most favorite colors!  They look beautiful on this table, but not in  my home!

{More to come on this project}

“Colors of the Sea”

I managed to pick a carpet color in what I will say was record time!  Drum roll……15 minutes!  It took us longer to drive to the carpet store.  We made a day trip out of it and spent some time at the Broadmoor walking the lake and at the kids park. Plans were to visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, but on a gorgeous spring day, hundreds of others had the same idea and the wait just to get into the parking lot was an hour!

We shop at Carpet Clearance Warehouse in Colorado Springs.  Yes, there are plenty of places in Denver to shop for carpet, but we got part of the carpet on trade.

{SWEET}

 Tradebanks are fun and something to consider if you like to trade services.  {We’ve picked up wine, carpet, cleaning, sport memorabilia, spa services, water purifier and so much more on trade}

The main living area is hardwood floors, only the bedrooms are getting a flooring face lift.  Install is TODAY!  This was my weekend, piling everything from the rooms into the living room and purging for the community garage sale on June 9!  Two rooms of “stuff ” in the living room, minus beds and dressers.  I’m hoping it will be a smooth day today and carpet will go in with out a hitch and the color will be perfect.

Oy!

The hard part is over!

{I think}

xoxo,

Lori
